I'd like to mention MPQ tools DO modify WoW files. Speaking of which, is there an MPQ utility for Mac? I'm temporarily Windows-less -- sarthus

I did a quick google search and couldn't find anything... however one option would be to compile your own using any various C++ tools for the Mac...

Is a good source for the MPQ format, and I think there is some open source code for a MPQ extractor... but hopefully someone else may be able to help you out with a direct link to a Mac version.
